Your Star will be street parties ahead! It will be one of the greatest days of celebration in years - and The Evening Star is already planning a welcome Her Majesty will remember for the rest of her life. Tens of thousands of well-wishers will greet The Queen during her visit to Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds, and The Star will be at the heart of it. From special editions and supplements, through to a Street Party Competition, the visit will give us the chance to show Suffolk at its very best. Evening Star brand manager Austen Dack said: 'This will be a massive event for Ipswich and Suffolk and we aim to help readers celebrate in true Evening Star style.' Here's what the Evening Star already has planned:
And then there's those street parties, set to be a hallmark of Her Majesty's Golden Jubilee tour. Mr Dack said: 'We've already set up the ground rules for a major Evening Star street party competition. If you are planning a street party write and tell us all about it and you could be one of the winners of a £5,000 pot to help you pay for it. Ten street party organisers will win £500 each to make their event go with a swing.' We will print details of all street parties sent in and the ten organisers with the best plans and innovative ideas will win a chunk of the huge prize pot. The competition is already open, so send in details of your street party to Evening Star Golden Jubilee Street Party Competition, 30 Lower Brook St, Ipswich IP4 1AN.
