Sex Pistols plan new assault on the Queen The Sex Pistols are reportedly planning to reform for a gig to coincide with the Queen's Golden Jubilee. The band enjoyed their biggest hit with God Save The Queen in 1977, the year of the Silver Jubilee. They have had offers to play a gig on June 3, when the Queen will celebrate 50 years on the throne. Tour promoter John Giddings told the Sun the band has had some big money offers. For the Silver Jubilee The Sex Pistols were arrested as they sang their anti-royal national anthem on a boat on the River Thames. They last played at the Phoenix Festival in 1996 with original bassist Glenn Matlock replacing Sid Vicious, who died in 1979.
