Four-day holiday weekend planned for Golden Jubilee Tony Blair will announce plans today for an extra bank holiday to mark the Queen's Golden Jubilee. There will be a day off work and school on Monday, June 2, 2002, to mark the 50 years since the Coronation and the May bank holiday will be moved to Tuesday, June 3. As this follows a weekend, it will allow for four days of celebrations including the opening of royal gardens to the public and more than 100,000 medals for members of the emergency services, teachers and nurses.
