I CAN is the national educational charity for children with speech and language difficulties. Around one million children in the UK have some kind of speech and language difficulty that may affect their development, education and life opportunities. Our vision is to create a society where the special needs of these children are recognised, understood and met. I CAN works in partnership to develop and deliver a range of educational services to children and young people across the UK. I CAN evaluates and shares best practice through its research, training, information and consultancy services. Through this combination of activities, we support development of services to reach out to many more children, to give them the skills and confidence to communicate, learn and develop as independent young people.
